The aim of the Department of Soil Science and Plant Nutrition at the Faculty of Agriculture, Namık Kemal University, Tekirdağ, is to conduct up-to-date research aimed at solving the region's soil and plant production problems, to train Agricultural Engineers who are experts in the field and equipped with contemporary knowledge, and to conduct research aimed at identifying some of the problems and solutions in regional agriculture and proposing possible solutions, in addition to education and training activities.
 
 
 
Mission
 
To conduct research aimed at protecting soil and water resources and the natural environment, improving their quality, ensuring their sustainable use, increasing plant production, and solving productivity problems; to contribute to the development of new knowledge and products within the framework of sustainable principles in soil management and plant nutrition; to serve soil and fertilizer management, to provide useful information flow to our country through international studies and to encourage academic staff exchange, to organize useful projects and activities for the community, to create a source of income for undergraduate and graduate students with international and national project support, to improve the social ties of our departments, and to participate in multidisciplinary studies on agriculture, environment, and food.

Education: To train graduates who are preferred at the national and international level and who care about the sustainable use of nature and the environment in the region they serve.
 
Research: To conduct research that can investigate the diversity of the country's and region's soils, determine their potential, develop plant nutrition and management at a universal level, and contribute to zero waste management.
 
Service: To increase the quality and quantity of plant production and soil health by using basic soil knowledge and producing all the data necessary for healthy plant production, and to contribute to the future of agricultural production through social responsibility projects.
