Academic Programs Overview


Undergraduate Program (Bachelor’s Degree)

Students who choose the Department of Soil Science and Plant Nutrition based on their OSYM (National Placement) exam results are offered an optional one-year English Preparatory Program.

  • Requirements: Students must complete 4 years of undergraduate coursework totaling 140 credit hours and a 30-day summer internship.

  • Degree Awarded: B.Sc. in Agricultural Engineering (Ziraat Mühendisi).

  • Historical Data: Between 1995 and 2014, the department graduated 430 Agricultural Engineers.


Master’s Program (M.Sc. – 2 Years)

Students holding a Bachelor’s degree can enroll in the Master’s program to specialize further.

  • Requirements: * Minimum of 21 and maximum of 27 credit hours.

    • Completion of 7 to 12 courses.

    • One Seminar course and a Thesis study.

  • Degree Awarded: M.Sc. in Agricultural Engineering (Ziraat Yüksek Mühendisi).

  • Historical Data: Between 1989 and 2015, 88 Master’s students graduated from the Department of Soil Science and Plant Nutrition.


Ph.D. Program (Doctorate – 4 Years)

Designed for students holding a Master’s degree who wish to pursue advanced research.

  • Requirements: * Minimum of 21 credits (at least 7 courses).

    • One Seminar course.

    • Successful completion of the Qualifying Exam (Proficiency).

    • Submission of a Thesis Proposal and completion of the Doctoral Dissertation.

  • Degree Awarded: Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) and Diploma.

  • Historical Data: Between 1989 and 2015, 29 Ph.D. students graduated from the Department of Soil Science and Plant Nutrition.
